Riley Green just dropped his highly anticipated, surprise acoustic EP Valley Road today. It features two new songs, “Better than Me” and “If It Wasn’t For Trucks” as well as three of our favorites from his recently dropped album Different ‘Round Here. Riley previewed his new songs on his Instagram these past couple weeks which we featured in our article earlier this week.

You can find Different ‘Round Here, and his two Number 1 singles, “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died” and “There Was This Girl” acoustic version on Valley Road along with these two new songs. Riley stated on his Instagram, Here’s what I’ve been working on from the house these last few weeks. My acoustic EP Valley Road has some songs you know and some you don’t on it.” Riley worked on and recorded this EP with some help from Erik Dylan at his house in Jacksonville, AL and Dann Huff remotely in Nashville.

Valley Road Tracks

“Better Than Me” – Acoustic (Riley Green, Charlie Muncaster, Gary Stanton, Jordan Fletcher, Ray Fulcher)

“There Was This Girl” – Acoustic (Green, Erik Dylan)

“Different ‘Round Here” – Acoustic (Green, Jonathan Singleton, Randy Montana)

“If It Wasn’t For Trucks” – Acoustic (Green, Dylan, Montana)

“I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died” – Acoustic (Green, Lendon Bonds, Buford Green)

“Better Than Me” focuses on everything that’s going on in the world right now and gives us hope for the future with the lyrics, “With all this going on, I’ve found the right in all this wrong and I finally see. The good Lord knows better than me”. This song was written by a CREW if I ever heard one, Jordan Fletcher, Charlie and Gary from Muscadine BloodlineRay Fulcher and Riley Green. THIS is what country music is all about. Powerful, insightful, and a sign of HOPE to come in this chaotic time.

We first heard “If It Wasn’t For Trucks” back in 2018 at the Y100 FM Studio in San Antonio, Texas. Lord only knows where Riley or us would be right now if it wasn’t for trucks.

Riley was named an “Artist To Watch” by Rolling Stone Country, Taste of Country, Sounds Like Nashville and iHeartRadio. Green was also selected as a CMT “Listen Up Artist” and MusicRow 2019 “Next Big Things.” Recently wrapping Brad Paisley’s 2019 WORLD TOUR, he was headlining his Get that Man a Beer tour before it was put on hold due to COVID-19, and will hopefully join Jon Pardi’s Heartache Medication Tour throughout the fall.
