Hailey Whitters Is Back with a Gut-Wrenching New Single, “Casseroles”

It’s been almost two years since Hailey Whitters gave us new music, but the wait is finally over. Today, the Iowa-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter dropped “Casseroles,” her first release since her 2023 EP I’m In Love. And let me tell you, it hits hard.

Written by three Nashville heavyweights — Hillary Lindsey, Tom Douglas, and James Slater — “Casseroles” is as raw as it gets. The song dives headfirst into the aftermath of tragedy, capturing that moment when the food deliveries stop and everyone else moves on… but you’re still left in the thick of it. For Whitters, it’s personal. “I lost my brother suddenly thirteen years ago,” she shared. “I remember people bringing casseroles, but I couldn’t eat for days because I was so distraught. This song floored me because it took me back to that time, but it also reminded me that even in the darkest moments, there’s hope.”

What makes this song so powerful is how real it feels. It’s like a snapshot of grief and resilience bundled together, and it hits you right in the gut. Honestly, you can almost see the whole story play out in your head as you listen. That’s the magic of Hailey Whitters — she knows how to make you feel every single word.

“Casseroles” is her first release since I’m In Love — an EP that earned major love from places like Billboard and Stereogum. It also gave us her breakout hit “Everything She Ain’t,” (Clap Clap) which went platinum, cracked the Billboard Hot 100, and became her first top 20 at ole country radio. Throw in an ACM win for New Female Artist of the Year, and yeah, Hailey’s been crushing it.

In between dropping hits, Whitters has been busy. She worked with Max McNown, Evan Honer, and Brooks & Dunn, and had a full-circle moment opening for Alan Jackson on his final tour date last year. Oh, and she also sold out two shows at her hometown honky-tonk, DanceMor Ballroom.

If you want to catch Hailey live this year, she’s got some big festival dates lined up, including the inaugural Sand in My Boots festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Under the Big Sky in Montana. But for now, do yourself a favor and go listen to “Casseroles.” It’s one of those songs that reminds you why country music hits different — it’s real, it’s raw, and it sticks with you.

Keep up with Hailey at HaileyWhitters.com and on all the socials.

This is one of those moments where we’re reminded why Hailey Whitters is one of the most exciting voices in country music. She’s not just releasing songs; she’s telling stories that connect on a deep level. “Casseroles” is proof she’s only getting better.
