I’d say Cole Barnhill and Sterling Elza are the duo we didn’t know we needed, but let’s face it – we knew we needed this entire time. The two have teamed up for COUNTRY ALBUM OF THE YEAR, and the result is every bit as fun and badass as you’d hope.
The riffs are great, but the melodies might be even better. Both bring an unmistakable energy to the table, and their vocal work fits together incredibly well. There’s a natural chemistry here that makes the whole EP feel like a collaboration that was meant to happen.
It’s tough to narrow down the best tracks because there’s plenty to love throughout, but the blues-rockin’, easy-ridin’ Say It is an early favorite. It’s a perfect example of what makes this partnership work so well.
COUNTRY ALBUM OF THE YEAR is an absolute treat from these dudes. The sound clicks, the energy is there, and this is one hell of a partnership that we can only hope to hear a lot more from down the road.
