Cigarettes @ Sunset and Grizfolk Come Together For ‘Out For Blood’

Cigarettes @ Sunset and Grizfolk joining forces on Out For Blood feels less like a feature and more like a natural collision of worlds. From the jump, the track balances Cigarettes @ Sunset’s gritty, roots-soaked “Appalachian Possum Rock” with Grizfolk’s sleek, cinematic strain of “Neon Americana,” creating a sound that feels both lived-in and forward-looking. It’s a collaboration that makes sense immediately, but still manages to surprise in all the right ways.

What really stands out is how unmistakable both acts remain throughout the song. Even as their styles intertwine, each group’s identity shines through clearly—no small feat in an Americana scene that’s become increasingly crowded. You can pick them out within seconds, which speaks to how dialed-in their creative voices are. Rather than blending into something generic, Out For Blood sharpens what makes each band unique.

The musicianship across the board is excellent, with every part serving the song rather than fighting for space. The pacing is tight and intentional, letting the track build and release without ever dragging. Vocally, the performances are confident and expressive, elevating already strong songwriting that feels thoughtful, purposeful, and emotionally grounded.

Out For Blood ultimately feels like a statement piece for where both Cigarettes @ Sunset and Grizfolk are headed. There’s a sense of momentum here—of bands who know exactly who they are and are ready to take bigger steps. It’s hard not to be excited about what the rest of the year holds for them, and even harder not to root for the fanbases they’re bound to grow along the way. This is a collaboration they absolutely deserve.
