Dexter and The Moonrocks Bring the Boom in New Single ‘It’s a Lot’

At this point, this is becoming a Dexter and The Moonrocks fan page, and I’m totally fine with that. The boys have dropped possibly one of their hardest riffs yet with It’s A Lot, immediately grabbing your attention with a booming, loud rhythm that grooves like no other. There’s a heaviness to the track that feels massive without sacrificing the swagger and personality that makes Dexter and The Moonrocks so damn fun. Then, as the song moves into its second half, that cool wind-down gives everything room to breathe and ties the whole thing together perfectly.

What continues to stand out most is just how impressive the songwriting has become. Dexter and The Moonrocks are clearly maturing as songwriters at an incredibly rapid pace, and you can hear that growth with every new release. They’ve figured out how to build songs around huge riffs and infectious grooves while still creating dynamics that keep the listener engaged from beginning to end. That musical growth is happening alongside their rise as a band, which makes it even more exciting to watch. A few years ago, they were grinding their way through the scene, and now they’re getting ready to play The Tonight Show tomorrow. Watching that evolution happen in real time is unbelievable.

It’s an absolutely legendary run these boys are on, and they’re doing a hell of a job representing the Texas scene along the way. There’s something special about seeing a band take the sound, attitude and energy that helped build their following and bring it to increasingly bigger stages without losing what made people fall in love with them in the first place. Dexter and The Moonrocks feel like a band that is nowhere near its ceiling, and It’s A Lot is another example of that continued evolution. The bigger they get, the sharper the songwriting becomes, and the more confident the entire band sounds.

So yes, consider this another Dexter and The Moonrocks appreciation post. It’s A Lot is a monster of a track, and it’s another reminder of why these guys are becoming such a force. The riff is nasty, the groove is massive, the songwriting is evolving at an incredible rate, and the trajectory they’re on is impossible to ignore. Check out It’s A Lot – it’s beyond worth it.
