Brotherly Blood: Shining Light On Brothers Osborne

A few things have always remained the same in the country music industry over the past

few years. Some of those being Morgan Wallen dropping hit after hit, Treaty Oak Revival
spraying their fans with beer, and Luke Combs selling out stadiums.
Another country music theme we have also seen is Brothers Osborne being one of the top
duos in the business.

T.J. and John Osborne, from Deale, Maryland, first signed a Nashville music deal in 2012
and busted right on the scene immediately with their single, Let’s Go There. From there, the
duo would make an LP titled Brothers Osborne, and then it was full steam ahead.
One of the songs on the LP, Stay a Little Longer, was a huge hit for the brothers and
still is to this day. As of December 15, 2025, the song has 257 million plays on Spotify and the
song has since gone triple platinum.

The LP was a huge hit and it propelled the duo to make their debut album, Pawn Shop.
The 11 song album contained It Ain’t My Fault, and Rum, both are also considered big hits
for Brothers Osborne.

Pawn Shop was such a big hit that the duo was awarded Duo of the Year by the CMA
Awards in 2016. The brothers would win Duo of the Year also in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
The album was jam-packed with the electric guitar playing of John Osborne. Osborne,
accompanied with his awesome ginger beard, curly hair and guitar, landed on the cover of
Vintage Guitar magazine.

T.J. Osborne, known for his deep and rich baritone voice, put it out to display on the
record with songs like Pawn ShopHeart Shaped Locket, and Greener Pastures.

The duo and its writers also dabbled in heart-felt song writing with 21 Summer. That
song always hits hard and has themes of reminiscing. It also gives the listener a breather after
rock song after rock song.

The success from their first album propelled them to headline their first tour titled, Dirt
Rich Tour.

Brothers Osborne, two years later in 2018, did it again, and released my personal favorite
album, Port Saint Joe.

This album transformed listeners to the beach and delivered soft vocals and themes of
relaxation throughout the whole album.

Tracks like, Weed, Whiskey and WillieTequila AgainA Little Bit Trouble, are
just among the few songs that the duo knocked out of the park.

2018 continued to be a great year for T.J. and John as they teamed up with Dierks Bentley
to create another favorite of mine, Burning Man. Burning Man received over 162 million plays
on Spotify and contains one of the best guitar solos you will ever hear within country music,
thanks to John Osborne.

Among the other releases that the brothers have had was their third studio album,
Skeletons, released in 2020. In that album, the duo returned to a more rock style, but also had
more tame songs like High NoteMake It A Good One, and Old Man’s Boots.
Brothers Osborne also appeared on Brooks & Dunn’s Reboot album in 2019 in which
they teamed up with Brooks & Dunn in covering their hit, Hard Workin’ Man.
Flash forward to the late stages of 2025, Brothers Osborne fans, including myself, are
patiently waiting for new music.

Brothers Osborne released another self-titled album in 2023 in which the duo definitely
experimented with different styles. Then on April 4, the duo released Finish This Drink, which
sounded a lot more like the Brothers Osborne we are used to.

On October 29, Brothers Osborne’s Instagram page released a video showing the two
brothers working on new music.

As the year closes out and the wind chill sets in, I am beginning to have visions of a
brand new Brothers Osborne album or at least an LP this summer that has similar sounds to
Pawn Shop and Port Saint Joe. But, with that being said, any Brothers Osborne release will
be on repeat for me no matter what.
