We’ve been rocking with Austin Snell for a long time. We watched him kick down the door with that grunge country sound. All power. All edge. But his new single “Family Tree” hits on a different level.
This one’s personal.
It’s a gut-punch of a track. A coming-of-age moment. The kind of song that stares in the mirror and asks, how much of who I am is where I came from? Some of it’s your bloodline. Some of it’s the choices you make. All of it shapes you.
“Family Tree” talks about faith. It talks about love. It talks about the things that keep you hanging on when life gets heavy. It’s the ups and downs of growing up. The good. The bad. The in-between. Whether it’s your Mom, your Dad, or someone who stuck around when they didn’t have to.
It still carries Austin’s rock and roll roots (co-written with Riley Thomas, Conor Matthews and Nicolette Hanford). But there’s a weight to it. A patience. A nod to the tradition and storytelling that built country music in the first place. Thoughtful. Real. Country at its core.
It’s the first look at his new EP Home Sweet Hell, dropping August 22. And if this song’s the tone-setter, Austin’s about to show a whole new layer.
We’re proud to say we’ve been in his corner from the jump. And with songs like this, that’s not changing anytime soon.
Stream Family Tree now. You just might shed a tear or 2. I sure did.
