Mitchell Ferguson is having a moment right now. With his unique style, songwriting and swagger he brings center stage, it’s hard to ignore what he’s doing. Drink a Beer was a big success, followed by the insanely fun listen, In The Paint, and now we have another banger that dropped on May 16th called Like They Used To. Teaming up with loyalties, a killer producer of “cinematic cowboy pop”, a very accurate name and a term we should use more often, Ferguson shows he is more than just the Drink A Beer guy (if you’ve followed Raised Rowdy for any amount of time, you would know this by now!).
The best attribute to Ferguson’s music is that you literally cannot put it in a box. In Like They Used To, you can pick up the overall country aesthetic, but the Mitchell Ferguson style of blues and even hip hop are sprinkled in at every corner. The vocal work is A-1 as always, instrumental aspects as well. The lyrics and structure from the verses to the chorus create an extremely well-put together melody. Production is great and puts a bow on top of the entire thing.
Mitchell Ferguson is one of the artists we preach about most on this website, and we promise you will not be disappointed. Go check out Like They Used To now!
