Dexter and The Moonrocks Rock Out on New EP, ‘Happy To Be Here’

Watching Dexter and The Moonrocks evolve and grow in popularity has been one of the most fun parts of covering Texas music. They have been unique since the beginning and established their own sound early on, and they haven’t slowed down in the slightest when it comes to progressing musically. The Moonrocks are an alternative rock force to be reckoned with, and it’s super exciting we get another opportunity to see how they cook in their newest EP, Happy To Be Here.
In Happy To Be Here, we witness the group’s ability to craft tunes that keep our head bobbing with melodies as good as any pop song you’ll hear, all while implementing their rock driven instrumental ability and painfully relatable lyrics. Tracks like Cry and Sarahtonin are a force of energy booming right in your face, and then you have a smooth, laid-back aesthetic with spacey riffs like you’d hear in Breakin’. This is a fantastic EP, possibly a favorite of the year so far.
Dexter and The Moonrocks can be in a genre of their own, and perhaps that’s where they belong. Truly unique alternative rock for grungy astronauts – yeah, that sounds wild, but you know that’s somehow accurate. Go give their brand-new EP, Happy To Be Here, a listen now!
