Tyler Dial’s “BORDERTOWN” Era Is Here: Laid-Back, Deepcut Country for the TurnDown Days

On this episode of the Raised Rowdy Podcast, Kurt and I  sit down with Tyler Dial for a full deep dive into BORDERTOWN, his long-awaited sophomore album due out June 13th. If you’ve been craving music that feels like sipping a cold drink with the windows down or vibing solo on a beach at sunset—this is your soundtrack.

Dial just dropped two new tracks, “Holy Smoke” and “I’m Not Cryin’ (I’m Just Stoned),” and we talk about everything from the stories behind those songs to the album’s roots in Puerto Rico, heartbreak, and home-recorded demos that accidentally became final cuts.

The whole project, Tyler explains, is “a reflection of the space between youth and adulthood.” Instead of chasing hits, he chased honesty and the result is a cohesive, breezy, and vulnerable record that showcases Tyler’s growth as a songwriter, producer, and human.

We dig into the emotional center of “Still on the Fence,” the viral lift behind “Tumbleweed,” and how happy accidents (like dropping a film camera into the ocean) turned into art. Tyler also opens up about self-producing videos, finding clarity in solitude, and why he’s aiming for slow-burn success instead of overnight flash.

With influences ranging from Jack Johnson to the Eagles, Kacey Musgraves, and John Mayer, Tyler carves out his own lane- indie twang with a Nashville heart.

BORDERTOWN drops June 13th, just in time for the summer turn-down.

Listen to the full podcast now and keep your eyes peeled, Tyler is just getting all dialed in.
