Turnpike Troubadours have been back at it for a while now. After their hiatus years ago, they returned seemingly out of nowhere, triggering raving fanfare and a whole new chapter to the band’s story. Turnpike dropped their 2023 album, A Cat in the Rain, which more than likely introduced a whole new generation of fans to the group. Here we are in April of 2025 – at the moment this is being written, Turnpike is playing The Boys From Oklahoma concert series with the mighty Cross Canadian Ragweed in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
A billboard was spotted in Stilly, which announced a surprise new album from Turnpike Troubadours.
The Price of Admission was released on April 11th. It’s an objective thought that Turnpike can do no wrong (seriously, is there a bad song?), and their streak continues with this record. The classic sound of the group is ever-present, with Evan Felker’s iconic lead vocals blowing through the melodies like a breeze, assisted by a locked-in rhythm section, wonderful guitar work and, of course, the fiddle. Production is top quality, which is not surprising with Shooter Jennings at the helm.
It’s safe to say that any Turnpike fan is going to love this album, but if you have yet to dive into the band, give The Price of Admission a listen. Top tier songwriting, musicianship and a truly unique sound is what has made Turnpike Troubadours such a big deal in the country music landscape. Go give The Price of Admission a listen!
