There are some artists who you just can’t put in a box. There are artists who deserve a lot more praise and attention than they get. These both describe Alex Rogers.
With a style that is a wide combination of country, soul, pop and much more, his sound is unique. His first two singles, Hand Me Down and Understanding, were great statements that shot him out of the gate right off the bat. On March 14th, he kicked off 2025 with his new tune, Need I Remind, and it did not disappoint. There is a neat country structure that holds together the aesthetic, all while being complimented by Rogers’ soulful and wide-ranging voice. It’s a nice, swinging backbeat from the rhythm section with bursts of energy coming from each chorus. The whole thing is just a great piece overall, with fantastic production to boot.
