Is Evan Cyote the Next Badass in Country Music? She Hopes to Prove It To You With New EP

If you haven’t been paying attention to Evan Cyote yet, it’s time to change that. Her new EP, They Ain’t You, just dropped, and it’s five songs with—equal parts grit, swagger, and a whole lot of “don’t mess with me” energy. With this release, Evan isn’t just putting out music, she’s making a statement.

No Gimmicks, No Fear—Just Straight-Up Talent

A Florida native who came to Nashville with zero stage experience and no musical connections, Evan could’ve easily been another name lost in the shuffle. But instead of forcing things before she was ready, she took her time, honed her craft, and surrounded herself with the her people. Now? She’s dropping an EP that feels like the real, unapologetic version of herself.

“This was the first time I felt fully confident in my work and my image as an artist,” she says. And it shows.

A Sound as Bold as Her Presence

From the moment They Ain’t You kicks in, you know exactly what kind of artist Evan is. There’s a toughness to her sound, a rawness that pulls from some of country music’s most badass women—Miranda Lambert, The Chicks, Lainey Wilson—while still feeling fresh and unique.

Songs like He Hates Music and Ain’t No Good are built for blasting with the windows down, the kind of tracks that make you want to dance, drink, and forget about whatever’s been dragging you down. But don’t get it twisted—this EP isn’t just here for the party. There’s heart in it too.

“I think it’s important to write sad songs, but it’s just as important to have fun songs that make you want to dance. All it takes is one upbeat song to snap you out of whatever funk you’re in,” Evan says.

And that’s exactly what her music does. It’s high-energy, full of attitude, and impossible to ignore.

Born to Be Onstage

One of the things that sets Evan apart is her live show. Some artists make great music, but not all of them can command a room. Evan? She owns the stage. Whether she’s feeding off the crowd or creating the energy herself, she knows how to hold an audience’s attention—and keep it.

“I had to learn real fast how to hold a room so I could afford to eat,” she says about playing on Broadway in Nashville. That grind has shaped her into a performer who brings it every single night.

And that confidence isn’t just for show. It’s part of who she is.

“I’m a woman who is not afraid to be herself or make mistakes. I think that attracts people because it makes them feel safe. Authenticity is the most important thing in this industry, and a lot of people are scared to show that,” she explains.

More Music, More Shows, More of Evan Being Evan

This EP is just the beginning for Evan Cyote. She’s already back in the studio recording new singles—some of which will be dropping after her stint on American Idol this spring (yeah, she’s got that in her back pocket too).

Her goal? To take this music on the road, hitting a new state every month.

“It’s a slower process without a booking agent, but hopefully I can reach a new state at least once a month. For now, I have my residency in Nashville,” she says.

One thing’s for sure—whether it’s in Nashville or across the country, Evan Cyote is an artist you need to see live. Her stage presence is unmatched, her music is electric, and her confidence is downright contagious. We got lucky enough to have Evan and her band play our Wednesday night showcase we host weekly at Riley Green’s Duckblind (Come see us when you are in Nashville next) and the set was electric to say the least!

So do yourself a favor—go stream They Ain’t You, learn the words, and get ready to see Evan Cyote take over. We cannot wait to see what she has up her sleeve next.
