There isn’t an up-and-coming artist or band as hot right now as The Red Clay Strays in the alternative country scene. They bring other styles to the genre that make them so unique, which include blues and even a dash of rockabilly. Frontman Brandon Coleman brings such a great voice, seemingly straight out of a time machine, with the rest of the group constantly displaying their talent and tightness. This is all very apparent in its rawest form on their brand-new live album, Live At The Ryman.
Live albums can either be really good or really bad, but with a band like this, there’s no doubt that it will deliver – and it did. The track list includes some of The Red Clay Strays’ biggest songs, including Wanna Be Loved, I’m Still Fine, Stone’s Throw, Wondering Why and more. The band’s performance is extremely impressive, and even though we only get the audio aspect, you can easily visualize them right in front of you on the Ryman stage because of their ability to illustrate the performance to the listener. The crowd is very into the show from start to finish, and that energy was shared by The Red Clay Strays the entirety of the record.
The Red Clay Strays are one of the best success stories that came out of the country music-sphere this year. Their second studio album from back in July, Made by These Moments, is an easy pick for album of the year, and the cherry on top being a quality live record to round out 2024 is perfect. Quit wasting time and go give Live At The Ryman a listen now!
