Nickelback is in quite the position right now. We all know how massive they were back in the day, and with their recent blast-off into popularity again in the past couple years, they a bigger fanbase than ever before. The older generation, and now the new generation, packing their concerts, jamming their music and forming a new hype around the band is fantastic to see. Nickelback is treating us to a brand-new live album, Live From Nashville, which is set to release on November 15th, and in the meantime we get to hear their brand-new single, San Quentin (Live From Nashville), which is out now.
The studio version San Quentin was featured on their 2022 album, Get Rollin’. Out of most of those album tracks, this was probably the one that got fans talking the most. Good news is the new live rendition takes the energy of the 2022 version to a new level. Fans are usually 50/50 on if they are fans of live recordings, but I promise this one delivers. Lead singer, guitarist and Canada’s gift to music Chad Kroeger sounds as good as ever in his performance, along with the rest of the guys showing just how tight they still are after all these years. Production on this single is flawless, which gives us good expectations to how the entire album will sound once it’s released.
If San Quentin (Live From Nashville) is any indication on what’s to come on Live From Nashville, we’re in for a treat. With Nashville being the city of country music, there’s a list of heavy-hitting features on the record as well. This includes artists like Bailey Zimmerman, HARDY, Ernest, Josh Ross and Brantley Gilbert. You will also be pleased to know that Daughtry will be featured as well! While we wait patiently for the upcoming album, which will drop on November 15th, go ahead and jam out to their new single, San Quentin (Live From Nashville).
