Young modern rock bands are all the way back.
Honestly, it’s a downright crime that Nashville’s best kept secret, Lombardy, aren’t as big as they deserve, but let’s enjoy the ride on their way up. The group just dropped their newest single, Midnight Man on August 16th, and it is quite the tune. Consisting of Mike Scott, Jonathan Plevyak, Seth Rentfrow and Steve Mascarello, the talent in this band is apparent upon first listen, and the way they combine styles of rock, blues, hard rock and a dash of psychedelia is beyond impressive.
Midnight Man sounds like if you take a band like The Black Keys or someone of that style and turn them up to eleven. The guys in Lombardy kill the instrumental element in this song, the vocal work is energetic and keeps you engaged, and the production is on point here. There is no way you can avoid blaring this on some good speakers and banging your head along with each cymbal crash.
Go give Lombardy’s Midnight Man a listen now!
