Koe Wetzel Switches Things Up with New Album, ‘9 Lives’

After a long wait, Koe Wetzel has finally released his newest album, 9 Lives.
On July 19th, all the Koe fans around the country were treated with something different. Wetzel has been a trailblazer in the Texas scene by simply doing what he wants to do without thinking about following a specific mold. On 9 Lives, he brings a solid mix of pop, country, rock and everything in between. This is definitely a different sounding Koe album, but that is what makes it stand out from the sonic element to the arrangement.
For those fans who wanted Wetzel’s country side to come back, they were treated with some bangers like the heavier-toned TwisterHatchet and the straight-up southern rock title track, 9 Lives (Black Cat). Also present throughout the track list are a couple pop-centric tunes like Sweet Dreams and High Road featuring Jessie Murph (by the way, haters- leave Jessie alone). There is something for everyone on here, and it is definitely a solid addition to the Koe Wetzel catalogue.
9 Lives is absolutely a different sounding record when you compare it to his previous releases, which I feel like that’s what the point was. Progression is important in music for artists who want to expand their creativity, and whatever helps their drive and passion is exactly what they need to do. With the fanbase that Koe has, I think it’s safe to say they will back him up through thick and then, release after release.
Go give 9 Lives a listen now!
