Goodnight, Texas Releases a Smash with New Record, ‘Signals’

Goodnight, Texas is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It is impossible to define the duo, which includes Avi Vinocur and Patrick Dyer Wolf. You can point to folk-rock in one track, then it switches up to heavy blues, followed by bluegrass. That is the beauty of these guys though, because they keep it fresh while also having consistently high-quality musicianship and songwriting.
They just released their newest record, Signals, on July 19th. The guys did not miss on this record, which fantastic tracks like the groovin’ Dry HeatRUNAWAYS  featuring Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, the heavy-hitting Among Tumbleweeds and North Dakota, with a really breezy aesthetic. The musicianship of Vinocur, Dyer Wolf and the band is top-notch and so extremely diverse in what they can play. The songwriting is also extremely impressive, which is one of the greatest strengths of Goodnight, Texas. The lyrics illustrate an image or story in your head so clearly, they make it so easy to get the full experience of a song.
One of the craziest things to me, still, is how Goodnight, Texas aren’t bigger than they are. They will pop off, no doubt, but the uniqueness and talent of the group is undeniable and once the right ears get a hint of them, they will blast off. With it being only July at the time of me typing this, I can almost guarantee this will land in my top albums of this year, and I encourage you to add Goodnight, Texas to your listening list so you can experience a fantastic record.
Go give Signals a listen now!
