Dexter and The Moonrocks Introduce ‘Western Space Grunge’ in New EP

Dexter and The Moonrocks are experiencing quite a pop recently, as they should.  With so many things going right for them, which includes a diehard fanbase, touring all over the country, being the flagship artists for the Big Loud and Severance Records joint venture, and much more, they can add a killer EP to that list. On July 19th, The Moonrocks dropped their newest release, Western Space Grunge.
The boys have established their style as sad, space cowboy music for a while now, so it’s excellent to finally have a proper “subgenre” title to it. Western Space Grunge is a great collection of heaters with the quality we have grown to expect from the group. The fuzzy, energetic guitars, booming rhythm section and perfect mix of melancholy and angst that Dexter and The Moonrocks have made their own by now is ever present on this EP and better than ever.
All six tracks in this collection are top tier and show the boys aren’t playing around and are really trying to come in hot with this release. Outta Luck kicks us off with some hard-hitting drums, and we’re on a ride for the next twenty minutes all the way to Pixie, a tune with the most groovy bass intro of all time. Production on this EP is very solid, with the boys really using that in-your-face sonic element to their advantage.
It’s hard not to be excited about Dexter and The Moonrocks right now. They are blasting off at the moment and show no signs of slowing down, and with them still working their way to the peak of the mountain, that only means we are in for some of their best work yet in the future. Go get yourself hip to their new EP, Western Space Grunge.
