Giovannie and the Hired Guns are Back with New Single, ‘Chiquita’

There are not many Texas artists who have taken the alternative rock world by storm quite as fast and furious as Stephenville’s own Giovannie and the Hired Guns. The diversity and constant style progression that is shared with so many acts out of that region certainly did not miss these boys, as they have killed it in the country, Tejano, and rock spaces – even scoring the iHeartRadio award for “Best New Rock & Alternative Artist of the Year”. Consisting of Giovannie Yanez, Alex Trejo, Milton Toles, Carlos Villa and Jerrod Flusche, this motley crew is conquering Texas and the rest of the US day by day.

Giovannie and the Hired Guns just released their newest single, Chiquita. If you love the way these guys continually evolve in style and try out different musical angles, you are not going to be disappointed. You get the typical Tejano-rock infused element that Gio uses as their foundation, but there is also a ska/punk beat that drives it forward. Basically, just picture Santana and Reel Big Fish joining together for a song. The single is fantastic, but there is more – The band also announced their new album, Land of the Lost, will be released September 13th.

The music of Giovannie and the Hired Guns is a guaranteed good time, and if you aren’t on the train yet, get on. Go give a listen to Chiquita and keep an eye out for their upcoming album, Land of the Lost!
