Ho, ho, ho… or should I say “Koe, Koe, Koe”? Alright, that wordplay stinks.
What I’m trying to say is that Koe Wetzel has released three covers of some holiday favorites in his newest collection, Koe Wetzel Presents… Wetzel’s Wonderland. When news came out that this was happening, there were some eye rolls from people who thought that this was too gimmicky. Well, let me tell you, there is no gimmick or corniness to these tunes. Koe laid it all out and made amazing renditions of these classics, making them his own to a certain extent.
The tracks included include Please Come Home For Christmas, Blue Christmas and I’ll Be Home For Christmas, and the vocal performances on them are fantastic. Along with that is the performance from the band, which have a nice country/bluesy sound in these songs. There’s really no complaints here and a fun listen to prep yourself for the holidays.
