The Charlie Hickman Band Rolls Out New Single, ‘Smoke and Mirrors’

The Charlie Hickman Band, the Red Dirt group hailing from Cushing, Oklahoma, just released another Southern Rock heater. On November 3rd, CHB dropped their newest single, “Smoke and Mirrors”. These guys have been making quite a name for themselves while grinding and killing it at shows around the Oklahoma scene, so it’s nice to see some new music from them to really get a read on how talented these guys really are.

“Smoke and Mirrors” is produced and polished very cleanly, but there is still some grit to the guitar work and booming percussion. Hickman’s vocals are very clean and melodic, which pairs super well with the sound of the instrumental. It’s truly awesome to see this “class” of Red Dirt rockers coming up – along with CHB, think Gannon Fremin & CCREV or Trenton Fletcher – because they really know how to tear it up and make some quality music to represent that part of the country.

“We recorded this song in 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic, and had multiple delays and draw backs on the release,” Hickman remembers, “so to say we’re excited to finally get it out is an understatement. The song was cut at Classen Recorders with Dwight Hamlin behind the controls and Tyler Nichols on guitar, Will Davis on drums and Ian Smith on bass.”

Do yourself a favor and give “Smoke and Mirrors” by the Charlie Hickman Band now!
