Counting Down to Country Music’s Biggest Night: The CMA Awards

Yeehaw, country music fans! It’s that time of year again for one of county music’s biggest nights in Nashville, Tennessee. The 57th Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards Wednesday and it’s shaping up to be an unforgettable night.

Leading the pack with a whopping nine nominations is none other than the reigning Female Vocalist and New Artist of the Year, Lainey Wilson. Lainey’s nine nominations include Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year for “Heart Like A Truck” and “wait in the truck,” Album of the Year for “Bell Bottom Country,” Song of the Year for “Heart Like A Truck,” Female Vocalist of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year for “Save Me” and “wait in the truck.” If that’s not a stellar year, we don’t know what is!

But the surprises don’t stop there. First-time nominee Jelly Roll is making waves with an impressive five nominations including Single of the Year for “Need A Favor,” Male Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year for “Save Me,” Music Video of the Year for “Need A Favor,” and New Artist of the Year.

The reigning Entertainer of the Year, Luke Combs, is once again nominated for the night’s highest honor, alongside other powerhouses like Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, and Lainey Wilson. Luke Combs is also in the running for Single of the Year with his chart-topping cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” and Album of the Year for “Gettin’ Old.” This marks his fourth consecutive nomination for Entertainer of the Year, proving that he’s still on top of his game.

HARDY is riding high with four nominations, including Single of the Year and Song of the Year for “wait in the truck,” Musical Event of the Year for the same song, and Music Video of the Year for “wait in the truck.”

Jordan Davis, the reigning Song of the Year winner, is back with a bang, earning three nominations this year for his hit “Next Thing You Know.” He’s up for Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. And speaking of reigning champs, Ashley McBryde, the Musical Event of the Year winner, is back with three nominations in Album of the Year for “Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville,” Female Vocalist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for “Light On In The Kitchen.”

And what would the CMA Awards be without the man with the voice that can move mountains, Chris Stapleton? He’s once again vying for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. Plus, he’s in the running for Musical Event of the Year with his feature on Carly Pearce’s “We Don’t Fight Anymore.”

As for the man of the moment, Morgan Wallen, he’s back with three nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year for “One Thing At A Time,” and Male Vocalist of the Year.

But it’s not just the artists stealing the spotlight. Derek Wells, the maestro on the guitar, is earning his eighth consecutive nomination for Musician of the Year. This year, he’s also a contender in the Single and Musical Event categories for his work producing HARDY’s “wait in the truck,” featuring Lainey Wilson.

And of course, we can’t forget the music videos! Ashley McBryde’s “Light On In The Kitchen,” Old Dominion’s “Memory Lane,” Jelly Roll’s “Need A Favor,” Jordan Davis’s “Next Thing You Know,” and HARDY’s “wait in the truck” are all up for Music Video of the Year. Each of these videos is a visual treat, and we can’t wait to see who takes home the trophy.

The CMA Awards are going to be epic, and with such an incredible lineup of nominees, it’s impossible to predict who will come out on top.

Make sure to mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 8th and tune in to witness this spectacular celebration of country music.

Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning will co-host the event for the second year in a row.
