Just a couple of weeks after the Dylan Marlowe & Avery Anna collaboration, Marlowe teamed up with Dylan Scott to bring us yet another good drinking song with “Boys Back Home”. Hailing from the country music hotspot of South Georgia, Marlowe hit the road with Louisiana born Dylan Scott in early 2022. Hitting 22 venues from February to April, the Dylans were able to spend a lot of time together and grow to be close BEER BUDDIES. If you followed these two on social media during Scott’s “Livin’ My Best Life Tour”, you would’ve seen that these fellas are just two good ole country peas in a pod. During that time, Marlowe and Scott teased a potential collaboration by performing a snippet of the song and subtle social media hints along the way such as a January 18 post on Instagram from Dylan Marlowe with Dylan Scott captioned “The boys (back home)” and a post of both of them on March 20, 2022 captioned “How bout them boys back home? @dylanscottcountry”.
2022 was a busy year for both Dylans as Dylan Scott announced the “Amen To That Tour” with support from Lily Rose and Erin Kinsey. Dylan Marlowe announced at the same time that he would be hitting the road with Cole Swindell on his “Back Down To The Bar Tour” as direct support alongside Ashley Cooke.
“Boys Back Home” is the upbeat country song that we would expect from this collaboration. When these two get together, it is one hell of a party. “Here’s to the boys back home drinking dirt road beers on a Friday night. Wishing I was with y’all, singing them old songs, trucks circled up ‘round a farm fire”. This single digs into the country roots that both Scott and Marlowe grew up living. Written by Dylan Marlowe, Seth Ennis, and Joe Fox, “Boys Back Home” does not disappoint. Reminiscing on the days where Marlowe and Scott did redneck shit with their redneck friends, this song is bound to see some major success.
2023 has brought a lot for both artists, as Dylan Marlowe made his Opry debut in July. On top of that, he has announced tours with HARDY (The Mockingbird & The Crow Tour), Jordan Davis (Damn Good Time Tour), Morgan Wallen (One Night At A Time Tour), and announced the first few dates of a 2024 headlining tour called “Dirt Road When I Die Tour”. While Dylan Scott just finished up his “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us Tour” with special guests Matt Schuster and Tayler Holder.
As a fan of both artists, I am hoping to see more collaborations between the two whether it is the hilarious social media content, new music, or another tour. The future is very bright for the Dylans.
