Huser Brother Band out of Waco is quickly rising and gaining some well-deserved traction as of late in the Texas music scene. They’ve had some killer releases like “Tired of Runnin’,” “No More” and “Honey,” which are all unique in style – a trait that really does wonders for the Huser brothers. There is a soulful, bluesy bite that the duo has, which they flawlessly spotlight in each release. There is a new single, “Messed Around,” which dropped on September 1st, that offers another new style that the boys are tackling.
“Messed Around” leans a lot more on the soulful aspect than the blues, but the melody and instrumental elements here are crazy good. If you were to compare it to some other examples, picture the aesthetic of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song with the vocal performance of Tedeschi Trucks Band. The delivery flows so well and makes you feel like you’re almost on a wave.
Regarding the meaning behind the tune, Huser Brother Band said, “Messed Around is a story about a certain someone you didn’t have any intentions of falling in love with, but the more time you spend together, you realize that you’ve messed around and fallen in love.”
