Turnpike Troubadours are Back Again with Newest Single ‘Brought Me’

Turnpike Troubadours blessed us with another one, boys and girls. The country music icons dropped their third single, “Brought Me,” from their upcoming record, A Cat in the Rain. The first two releases for the album were “Mean Old Sun” and “Chipping Mill”, which are solid tunes – a guarantee when it comes to a band like Turnpike Troubadours. “Brought Me” is another promising sign for their long-awaited returning record, no doubt about it.

“Brought Me” is my favorite of the three singles, personally. While I am big on progression when it comes to artists throughout their career, it is nice to hear some familiar elements after a hiatus. Turnpike is a band that can dominate any road they go down, but the melody and overall sound of this release is very reminiscent of tracks from their 2015 self-titled album, or even 2017’s A Long Way from Your Heart. Evan Felker’s vocal performance is outstanding and strong as ever, while the instrumental contributions from each member of the band just glue together and flow like a fine wine.

If you are reading this, you are more than likely counting down the days to the new record, but I’ll say it anyway: on August 25th, listen to Turnpike’s newest album, A Cat in the Rain. If the track list is anything like “Brought Me” and the other two singles, the classic fans and newcomers will both be satisfied.

Give “Brought Me” a listen today!
