Foo Fighters Release New Record, ‘But Here We Are’

Foo Fighters finally released their newest album, But Here We Are, on June 2nd. It’s safe to say that this is going to be a record that will weigh on your emotions throughout the runtime, considering all that the band has been through since the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. Dave Grohl took over the throne for this release, but FF announced very recently the addition of drummer Josh Freese. Freese has quite the resume, including acts such as Devo, Weezer, Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses. I’d say the Foo are in good hands behind the kit.

If you’re a Foo Fighters fan, you will like But Here We Are. It’s as simple as that. Aside from the story and sadness seeded in it, we get some very solid tunes. “Rescued” was released as a single a while back and it is definitely one of the most solid tracks on the album. The melody is fantastic, Grohl’s vocals are great, and that classic FF sound is still alive and well even without Taylor.

“Under You” and “Show Me How” are some other favorites of mine personally, but the last track, “Rest” will definitely hit you in the feelings. The message is deep and you can hear the pain and sadness in Grohl’s voice. But Here We Are is a very powerful record by one of the rock bands of this century.

Do yourself a favor and give But Here We Are a listen!
