Ahead of a BIG Touring Year, Josh Ross Drops ‘Red Flags’

2023 has already been a FANTASTIC year for new music and we’re still only in the spring! Having been in town for a while now (almost 5 years) I’ve had the pleasure of getting to watch folks on the come up in the scene. From playing rounds in Midtown, to small showcases, to eventually putting out songs that get radio love around this great country of ours, and sometimes beyond! Josh Ross is one of those guys I’ve gotten to watch grow into one of the format’s top rising stars. His latest single, “Red Flags” dropped last Friday, and let me tell y’all, it is a SMASH.

“Red Flags” (co-written with Mason Thornley, Chris Sligh and Matt Geroux, who doubles as Josh’s producer) showcases the strong and undeniably distinct vocals of Josh Ross. The subject matter is something many can relate to – going back to that person you shouldn’t (something I myself have done on more than one occasion…).

If you’re wondering what having IT is, just look at Josh Ross! He’s got some of the same qualities as Morgan Wallen and Riley Green. When he walks in a room, people notice. He’s charismatic and presents well – the kind of guy the girls wanna meet and the guys wanna have a beer with. When Josh Ross smiles you wanna smile too! Josh always makes you feel something with his music. He’s seen great success with his last few releases “Trouble,” “On A Different Night” and “First Taste of Gone.” All three touch on the mindset of a break-up, typical in Country, but take a different unique approach with a variety of tempo, melody and lyricism that you can’t help but sing along to.

2023 will be a heavy touring year for Josh, with support slots on Lee Brice’s Beer Drinking Opportunity Tour, Chase Rice’s Way Down Yonder Tour and most notably the highly coveted first-of-three slot on Nickelback’s 2023 Get Rollin’ Tour w/ Brantley Gilbert! A great opportunity for country fans around North America to see one of our favorite up and comers.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Josh for an episode of the In The Round Podcast last year shortly after the wheels started turning for him here in town with his management team, label and more coming on board! It’s one of my favorite episodes to date, with lots of laughs and insight into who Josh Ross is! Check it out below!
