Josh Meloy, a singer-songwriter who has been making waves out west with his gritty, raw, and authentic sound, has released a re-recorded version of one of his most popular songs, “Washington Street.” The original track, appearing on Meloy’s 2018 album of the same name, is a very simple, stripped down take featuring mostly acoustic guitar. With that version now reaching over 2.5 million streams on Spotify, he dropped the new and improved “Washington Street“ on March 4th, this time including a full band backing him up on the track.
Keeping the same charm as the original, Meloy and the musicians who recorded this tune brought a lot of new life and energy to this song. He shows real promise to grow even bigger in the Red Dirt scene, and he definitely deserves every bit of it.
