Andy Buckner Plans on Continuous Growth in Latest EP

The Raised Rowdy family often talks about artists that have the ‘IT’ factor and to me, Andy Buckner is one of them. The North Carolina native has gained traction in Nashville with songs like “When Country Comes Back,” a hard-hitting song about the current state of country music. He’s now helping to bring that country sound back in a collection that is mixed with a soulful, gritty sound that is uniquely his in his latest EP, My Kind of People.

This five-track EP includes already mentioned “When Country Comes Back” and fan-favorite “My Kind of People,” which features country legend Tracy Lawrence. Working with such royalty came very easily for Buckner, who said him and Lawrence shared a lot of the same ideas. “It was awesome” says Buckner. “Tracy was a great guy in and out of the studio. We had a lot in common!” This is ultimately all about growth for Buckner, who hopes to discover a lot from this EP. “I’m looking to gain some more traction and hopefully grow my fan base so I can book more shows across the country.”

After watching Andy play recently, it’s mind boggling to see how well he controls the crowd with these new songs. With a myriad of different emotions pouring out into each one, there’s something a little different for everybody. He will continue to showcase these new tunes as he gets back on the road, going up to Chicago and Costa Rica this spring.
