As we all know by now, social media has taken over our lives. It consumes a lot of our lives but also allows us to reach more people than ever before. For the music industry, it has totally changed the way artists and songwriters grow a following. They are able to directly communicate with fans and showcase their talents for many to see. Georgia native, Drake Clowdis is doing just that. Although he hasn’t released any music yet, 2020 will be a big year for him, as he plans on releasing his first ever tracks for the world to hear.

Like many of us, Clowdis grew up listening to what his parents did, but it was one particular day when he was riding down the road with his father when he heard Travis Tritt. “When I was younger, my dad was in a band and I would always watch him and it inspired me. We were driving down the road one day and a Travis Tritt song came on the radio and I was hooked from there. My dad taught me how to play that Tritt song with three chords.”

One thing that sticks out when you dive into Clowdis’s lyrics is the realness that’s infused within it. Unlike some writers, Clowdis only writes what he experiences. “I could be anywhere and write a song. The thing with me is that I don’t push or force a song, these lines will just come into my head and it just flows from there. One of my songs “Without You” is a break up song about a girl and it came from me driving down the road one day with the windows down pretending that she was sitting next to me.” Check out his hard-hitting voice in “Black Sheep,” a song he wrote with William Cole Sumner.

It’s safe to say that 2020 is going to be a busy year for Drake Clowdis. This is really the first time he has pursued music full-time so there’s a lot of quality music that he has stored away just waiting to come out.
