Thomas Fountain Teaches Life Lesson in “Mountain Climber”

Since the beginning, country music has been rooted in realness and a certain vulnerability from its artists that cannot be found in other genres. It reminds its listeners of their everyday lives and creates a certain bond between them and an artist that they probably won’t ever have the chance to meet. For Georgia boy Thomas Fountain, there’s nothing more important than giving a glimpse into his life through the lyrics he writes and he did just that in his newest single “Mountain Climber.”

This track is the first of six songs to be released by Fountain on a new EP, set to release September 14th. The story line features the game of life; one that is a constant battle of ups and downs. This is a very relatable subject for Fountain, who performed this song for quite possibly his biggest fan, Mary of Virginia. Mary’s situation was not ideal, she was battling cancer and needed some inspiration to keep fighting so Fountain came to the hospital to give her a very special show that will never be forgotten by anyone that was there. Mary ultimately climbed her last mountain on January 30th, passing away at 12:45 a.m.

While this story is sad, it can teach us a great lesson: keep fighting and climbing through life. There’s no better way to do that than by listening to relatable country music. Fountain will showcase “Mountain Climber” and the rest of his EP as he takes the stage at The Crimson Moon in Dahlonega, GA later this month. He will also be featured on Nashville’s WSMV-TV Channel 4 on February 20th.
