One of Nashville’s Newest Bars – The Dogwood

With more and more folks traveling to Nashville these days, we thought it was a good time to bring back a honky tonk review. Of course there’s the world famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Winners and Losers and the artist owned bars on Lower Broadway; but as a Nashville dweller myself, I always get the question “where do the locals hangout?” and one of my first answers is the newly opened Dogwood in Mid-Town.

The bi-level hangout spot debuted back in October and is home to all kinds of different events, including one of our favorite Tuesday night writers rounds: Porchlight Pickers. The round is often headlined by singer/songwriter/guitar slayer Terry Lee Palmer, who is best known as Jon Pardi’s guitar player.

Even if you’re not into country music, The Dogwood still offers a nightlife that is unparalleled to many other places in town. There’s a plethora of televisions where visitors can catch every Preds and Titans game and there’s food that puts other bar food to shame. A personal favorite is the customizable sliders that come in a set of three.

On your next trip to Nashville, do some research before you settle for buying a $6 beer on Lower Broadway and head to Mid-Town.
