Josh Kerr is a CMA nominated songwriter and producer with four number one singles under his belt. He also just got engaged to half of the Maddie and Tae duo, Taylor Dye. Now, with his latest release “Oklahoma”, Josh is solidifying himself as an artist.
“Oklahoma” offers a unique perspective on a leaving song with a storytelling melody and poetic lyrics. This tune was penned by Josh Kerr, Sean McConnel, and Jacob Davis. Singer Heather Morgan also lends her incredible vocals on the song.
Telling lyrics like, “I guess I couldn’t hold a candle
to a place I’ve never been. I guess that blue sky in the picture on the mantle pulled you right back in,” tells the story that sometimes a relationship doesn’t end because of unfaithfulness or other extenuating circumstances. Sometimes someone just had to go back home.
