Airy, bluesy and soulful Sam Herb is bringing some swing to country music with his newest single.

Sam tells us “I have been playing it on the road for about 6 months now and I get comparisons to Leon Bridges (which is an unbelievable compliment), but I think it also keeps the integrity of country music in mind. “Lightning Bug Love” is hopefully going to gear everyone up for their summer love fling.”

While the track definitely has influences in other genres of music, Sam lyrically kept the story as close to a country song as you can ask. “I wrote this song with Bryan Frazier, I came into the write with most of the vision for this song and Bryan helped me formulate a story and keep it country. This song is completely out of his comfort zone and I think that’s why it came together so well.”

To break down the song itself, Sam tapped some of his extremely talented friends. The track breaks down as follows: Samuel Herb (Vocals), Chris Condon (Guitar, Additional Production), Wil Houchens (Keys), Mark Poiesz (Drums and Percussion), Mark Caldwell (UBass), Amber Woodhouse (Backing Vocals).

Sam got to this sound with the help of his producer Mark Caldwell. “My producer Mark Caldwell really dug deep into my vision for the sound of this song and it came out exactly as I imagined it in my head. All of the tones in this song were hand picked by Mark and myself. I hope people will be able to feel the love and extra time we put in on this song.”

I think the track will definitely give that light summer feel that so many songs this time of year aim for.  Give it a listen and let us know what you think!
