Nashville Neighborhood: Bellevue’s Hidden Secret

Red Line Bar & Grill

Address: 142 Belle Forest Cir, Nashville, TN 37221

Phone: 615-733-5463

Hours: 11:00am – 3:00am

The Setup:

Red lights are what you’ll notice walking up to Red Line Bar & Grill. Next up, tournament dart boards, a rocking stage with a large dance floor, and a 44ft long bar made of 3 ½ inches of solid concrete. Pair that with a wide red stripe down the length of the bar.

Why all the red accents? You’ll find the answer in the name: RED LINE, a homage to Chicago. The owner, Robert Simmen [Bobby S. for short] is a Chicago native and wanted to bring a little taste of Chi-Town to Music City. “If you get on the “L” (short for elevated train) at Howard Street, you’d be on the Red Line.”

Red Line has a little something for everyone. From dart leagues, to Texas Hold’em tournaments, shuffleboard, pinball machines, trivia, live music, and amazing food, you never have to leave. They have 4 tournament dart boards and if you forgot your personal darts, no worries because they’ll let you use house darts free of charge. Check out the bottom of the article for a schedule of weekly events.

If you’re not into cards or darts, Red Line Bar & Grill still has something for you: karaoke and live music. Trust me, perform on their stage and you’ll feel like you’re in downtown Nashville. If you’d rather just listen then you’ll never be disappointed by the wide variety of local musical acts that walk through the doors. If you walk into Red Line on a Saturday night, you’re most likely to hear live music from local bands like Sam McCrary and The Mix, Daddy LongLegz,or Backlit. Some call it the best “listening room” in Bellevue.

“If I’m going to ask people to come in and buy drinks and listen I want good music so the only way to play here at the Red Line is I have to hear you play live,” Bobby S. said.

Suds & Grubs:

There is no shortage of Suds or Grubs here at Red Line Bar & Grill and the best part is the prices are super reasonable. Not only does their interior pay homage to their Chicago roots so does their menu. At the top of the list is Bobby’s Italian Beef sandwich made exactly the Chicago way: Italian beef, Au jus, cheese, and jardinera. Next up, the Vienna Beef hot dog. Of course, it’s made the Chicago way with relish and mustard on a poppy seed bun. Lest we forget, THE CHICKEN TENDERS. This popular item is marinated in buttermilk and mixed with a secret sauce. If all day breakfast is your deal, they have that too. This includes ribeye steak, eggs, hashbrown, and toast all for $12.00

As for alcohol, they have a drink for everyone. All the beers you can think of including Blue Moon, Yuengling, and Bud Light on tap. They also have Corona, Lagunitas, Fat Bottom, Nashville Lager, PBR, Guiness, and ‘Exodus’ a Jamaican coffee porter.

“I talk to local brewers every day and I’m not afraid to bring anything in,” Bobby S. said.

Not to mention a selection of wines including Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Merlo, Chardonnay, Riesling and White Zinfandel.  A great selection of beer & wine paired with a wide selection of liquor. We asked Bobby S. their most popular liquors are. Here’s the rundown:

Jack Daniels, Jameson, Titos, Pickers, and Four Roses

In addition to this great alcohol selection, Bobby S. is adding a twist to Red Line Bar & Grill menu – mid to upper-grade whiskeys/bourbons. These include the following:

Belle Meade Bourbon, Michters, Calumet Farm bourbon, Bib and Tucker, Angel’s Envy, and Woodford Reserve.

The Vibe:

Bobby S. says there are only two rules at Red Line Bar and Grill: Have Fun and Be Nice. This isn’t hard to do with the accommodating bartenders, easy going customers, and of course, Bobby S. who introduces himself to every person who comes in.

“They know if they need something or need some extra attention all they really have to do is ask,” Bobby S. said.

Red Line Bar & Grill is the perfect place for those local Nashvillians who are looking for a taste of home. As Bobby S. puts it “When you’re here you’re home.”

From the menu to the music and drinks you’ll feel like you’re walking into your neighborhood bar with some style.

When asked to describe Red Line Bar & Grill’s vibe Bobby S. had this to say, “A unique bar & grill that offers outstanding food and sensational music & entertainment.”
