There are some things in life that just go together.

Peanut butter and jelly. Jack and Coke. Country music and back roads. Jordan Walker and Johnny McGuire.

And you can hear just how well these good ole boys from the duo Walker McGuire blend their country/ rock roots by taking a listen to their latest release, “Growin’ Up.”

“Growin’ Up” is an earnest tune that was inspired by Jordan Walker’s dry hometown, the little liquor store that used to sit right across the county line until it was turned into a Dollar Tree, and how time slowly makes everything evolve, from your old stomping grounds all the way to who you are as a person.

The lyrics take us on a literal trip down memory lane with descriptions of teenage escapades like the Friday night hangouts and the pullover, sit, put on a slow tune, enjoy life. From hell raising to first love and first heartbreak, Walker McGuire tells the story of how they grew up. They really tell the story of how every kid in small town America grew up.

So take a listen, and take note that this duo is about to blow up and be one of the next big acts in country music.
