The Best Album You (Probably) Never Heard Of

Some of you may know Jonathan Singleton whether you have heard him sing or not. He and his band the Grove were hitting country radio in the early 2010’s. He was putting out songs that spoke to the people of country music’s hearts. While the band is no longer together, many of you still know songs that Jonathan has penned.  Jonathan currently works as a songwriter in Nashville and has multiple hit songs he has helped artists get to national radio.  Here are just a few of those:

  • Tyler Farr’s- A Guy Walks Into a Bar
  • David Nail’s- Let it Rain, Red Light, and Night’s on Fire.
  • Tim McGraw’s- Diamond Rings and Old Barstools, and most recently,
  • Rascal Flatts’ Yours If You Want It.

My absolute favorite work that Jonathan has ever done though was a self released album from 2013 called The Getaway. This is one of the most complete and personally endearing albums I have had the pleasure to listen to. I always find myself coming back to it over and over again when I am looking for something to listen to.  For me it just never gets old. Johnathan currently is enjoying his life ad a father, husband, and well respected songwriter. He even mentors the likes of Luke Combs and up and coming Artist Kenton Bryant for his publishing company.  I hope sometime in the future he gets a chance to record more of his own music.

Until then give The Getaway a listen. If you love it or have another album that you feel the way I do about this one let me know below.
