2019: The Year of Ashley McBryde

With the New Year here, it is interesting to think about what country music will bring us in 2019. What new artists will begin to make noise in Nashville, while others will start to break through and truly make a name for themselves in the business and nationally. There is no doubt that Ashley McBryde is already a star, but look for her to transform into one of the top female artists in country music this year. The Arkansas native has made a lot of waves with her albums Jalopies & Expensive Guitars (2016) and Girl Going Nowhere (2018), the latter of which she even received a Grammy nomination for. With a perfect mix of sentiment and rebellion, McBryde has shown her versatility in the country music landscape.

McBryde has crossed over from overachiever to catch the attention of country music’s biggest stars. She also has played in its most prestigious and coveted venues. She made a guest appearance on Eric Church’s Holdin’ My Own Tour in 2017 where she preformed her song Bible and a .44 as a duet with Church himself. McBryde then made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry in August of 2017, where she sang a teary eyed Girl Goin’ Nowhere”. Her unfiltered persona brings us back to the days of Terri Clark and Gretchen Wilson, a style that is itching for revival.

So this year much like the last, you can get used to hearing Ashley’s name and we couldn’t be happier about it.

Cheers to 2019 and the rise of Ashley McBryde.
