Real Country TV Duo, Adairs Run Releases New Single: “Didn’t Know Better.”

It’s the start of a new year and for some that means leaving home to chase your dreams. That means finding those songs that perfectly describe what you’re going through. Luckily, Country Rock duo Adairs Run just released the ultimate “looking back on small town life” song.

“We didn’t know any better and what was out there until we really started touring all over and then came back to the areas we grew up in,” Adairs Run said.

This lyric is one of our favorites because it describes perfectly how it can feel: “But like that rusted out hand me down Chevy on the farm. Sometimes you’re just just stuck where you are.”

Didn’t Know Better” has the amazing storytelling element of country music mixed with a rock beat that gives you the ultimate nostalgia: “Another Friday night, see the stadium lights hear the crowd cheer on our hometown stars.”

“We started chasing this dream and it’s one of those songs that the title came to life after being gone for a while. We didn’t know any better and what was out there until we really started touring all over and then came back to the areas we grew up in,” Adairs Run said.

They encapsulate what it feels like to leave a small town and revisit it later in life: “No matter what’s changing…It all stays the same.” They talk about how living there can feel like a bubble and leaving can be scary, “We all said we were gonna get outta this town, but we never quite knew where to start.”

If you’re looking for music similar to Brantley Gilbert or Keith Urban then Adairs Run is your new music for 2019. The duo includes Todd Hanchock and Pat Pollifrone. Hanchock from Princeton, WV and Pollifrone from Salem, VA started performing together in 2009 hitting spots throughout West Virginia and neighboring states. They’ve opened for artists like Florida Georgia Line, Chase Bryant, LOCASH, Chase Rice, and Jake Owen. So it’s no mystery why Jake Owen picked them for his team on USA Network’s new music series, Real Country.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming interview with the duo on everything from new music, small town roots, and the Nashville music scene.
