Pittsburgh’s premier mid-sided music venue
Stage AE is a multi genre music venue located in Pittusburgh’s North Shore between PNC Park and Heinz Field. Stage AE gets a variety of country acts throughout the year on all of their stages. They get the artists that would often be primary openers at a stadium or amphitheater venue and sometimes those who would be the early opener as well. (Cole Swindell, Lee Brice, Cody Jinks, Chase Rice, Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, Ryan Bingham, Billy Currington, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dan + Shay) This size of venue was not widely available in Pittsburgh until promowest graced us with their first and only Pittsburgh location.
The Setup
Stage AE is a multi-purpose entertainment complex. It contains an indoor concert venue that holds up to 2,400 people and an outdoor amphitheater style venue that can accommodate 5,550. It even boasts a club setting for smaller acts (located where the merchandise stand normally is for larger inside shows).
If you want to be right up front for an artist at this venue plan to line up a few hours before doors open. There is usually a relatively large line for bigger acts.
Suds and Grub
Stage AE had inside and outside bars where you can get draft beer, canned beers or mixed drinks. For outside shows there are standalone beer only stands as well. Coors based domestic selections and limited craft beers available. A limited bar food menu depending on the size of the show and if it is indoors or outdoors.
The Vibe
Stage AE is a very well setup professionally designed concert venue. Outdoors: there is not a bad view even from the back of the lawn. Great sound and screen use. Indoors: Two stage front levels and a private seated mezzanine (Corporate leased private seating) give multiple views for you to see the show. Sounds is always spot on specifically if you are on the primary stage front level.
Tip
You can get tickets from the box office and not have to pay the majority of the fees Ticketmaster often charges. Usually it’s a flat 4 dollar fee on top of the ticket price as opposed to 8-10 dollars in fees via Ticketmaster.
